About Us
Over 80 years ago Glenn and Opal Heavner built Slanesville General Store. It became a hub for this small community. It began as a place where you could get most of your necessities. The General Store has always been welcomed by the community and dedicated to serving their needs as well as the needs of those passing through. It has stood the test of time and been a solid rock, meeting the needs and giving back to the community it so loves.
Now as times have changed so has the needs, the General Store or as the locals like to call it “The Slanesville Mall” has a post office, bank and a quaint diner. It offers a wide variety of groceries, hardware, novelties, baked goods, farm and feed supplies. The list goes on and each year more is added to accommodate the community. Stopping by the General Store is always a great way to add to your day. You will be sure to see someone you know and to see someone you haven’t seen in a while.
The General Store has become a gathering place of friendly faces, family and friends. If you are an “out of towner” you will be friends and family by the time you leave. Step into a smalltown feel with a big-town variety.
